When I Was Born

When I was born, I was born in the night.
My eyes began to open, and I turned to what was right.
Leaning on books and resting on those around me,
I sought intelligence and my moral boundary.

I have yet to enter the day,
But my knowledge of the night,
And prior moments of plight,
Have led me to the Way.
