When I’m Gone

As I shed a tear, you look aside,
no one sees in one's eyes.

I will miss you, though you may not feel the same,
you should feel sadness inside and deep dark shame.

When I'm gone, don't dwell on me.
Remember that now I'm free.

When the sun sets, seek out the moon
and just remember I'll see you soon.

Remember the laughter, tears, and love.
Remember who I'm speaking of.

So when I'm gone don't forget.
I said goodbye to my last distress.

So when I go, recall me
as the girl who never got to sleep,

the one who cried out in pain,
the one who felt sadness and shame-

the one who said goodbye.
