When she’s gone…

The darkness that surrounded her life,
slowly pervading into her sole,
having no choice but to let it in.
Through the days and nights of agony,
no one seemed to see her struggle.

Popping pill after pill,
trying to seclude the pain.
Did anyone see her struggle?

Punching the wall again and again,
feeling her knuckles bruise,
letting the darkness feed,
Did anyone see her struggle?

Starving herself to feel pain,
did anyone see her struggle then?

Her fight with darkness,
soon coming to abrupt ending.
At this time, and only this time,
they notice the empty pill bottles,
the punches on the wall,
her tiny bony body.
Only when she was gone,
did they see her struggle.
