When the Masks Come Off

I would seek out light it better days
When at last this darkness starts to fade
When I can walk the streets with my own face
I can be at peace and leave this place

These masks have become a weighty load
The longer I wear them on this road
But they seem a necessity in the tides of life
To hide my tears from the pain and strife

When at last I can cast them down
The masks I wear upon the ground
And walk this earth with my head held high
A sinner, saint and proud to die

When the masks come off and we are set free
Anonymous no more and proud to be
We show our faces to the ones who would see them hid
Those who sold their souls to the highest bid
