When The Tear Falls

I fought to hold back the tears swelling in my eyes
As the harbor around me is filled with a thousand wives’ cries
Cries of despair, grief, a sombre departure
As I pinpoint your emotions of dread like an archer

The tears were coming, I knew it
Deep inside I was plunging into a dark, lonely pit
Without, you I am no-one, my line has been crossed
No purpose, no hope, no spirit, lost

Why am I standing here letting you go?
When we should be dancing in the orchards covered in snow
Remember, the times we spent laughing hand clutched in hand
But now you are joining a pointless procession band

For the last time you turn from me, your gaze proud, your head held tall
And only then did a single tear fall
