When the Tiger Never Sleeps

Ever remember the days of your youth
When things were simpler and there was more to fear
Time seemed to creep along
And life seemed to be defined.

Remember when the tiger roamed the halls
Always hiding in the least expected places
Ready to tear your flesh and eat your soul
It never forgets names or faces.

All those years ago I still remember
When it lurked in the darkest parts of my mind
It never grasped my soul or my flesh
But I saw it and for many years I kept running.
