When this War Ends

50 voices grow silent
each day , **
Our choked throats whisper
'Inna lilahi wa ina illaihi rajaun' *
Fathers carry the coffins of sons
And still stand on their 2 feet,
Daughters torn apart and murdered by animals
wearing human skin. ***
But when our pain leaks through every pore,
and the earth tears apart
With the weight of young bodies,^
We will find justice
And our home;
Long deprived,
will know peace,
It will know the joy
that is given with abandon.
