When Water Thirst

When Water thirst, it is forsaken.
Cursed and dammed, cut off from its source.
Rejected, while flowing to rescue
the lost and imprisoned.

When Water thirst, it is forgotten.
Powerful life-giving force, overlooked
and ignored, receding into obscurity
to empower the neglected.

When Water thirst, it is forlorn.
Separated and abandoned
it plunges into despair, drowning all sorrow.
Emerging with hope for the despondent

When Water thirst, it has forgiven.
Pain and shame submerged,
swallowed by purified water
Parched souls quenched by Water’s thirst.

When Water thirst, it is finished.
Trickling, red droplets fall. Life drained,
exchanged for many. When Water says “I thirst”
It is the ultimate expression of love.
