When We Ended

Whenever I see you my heart skips a beat,
That's why when we talk I trip over my feet.
Without you my life has been sad and alone,
In choir I should have said you were my home.
Once, I killed myself in my sleep,
I woke to you at my feet.
You saved me, but now I am back in that race,
Where it feels like I always come in last place.
