Where are you, My Sun?

Where are you, my Sun?
My world upturned without warmth
It seems I have not won
Now attacked by monsters in swarms

This feeling is a loaded gun
I wish for your assurance and smile -
But what's done cannot be undone
Now I fear for my near exhile

My Sun, I need your brilliance
To pull me from this darkness
Please - I just want a chance
I pray you won't be heartless

It's a second of my lifetime
A moment that I failed to grab
Nowhere left for me to climb
So, my Sun, I learn to map

It's only after many moons come to pass
That silver scars heal - and I'll let go
Once again I'll stare head on in the glass
And dare to dream of the golden halo
