Where Did This Come From

I went out to do a good deed,
But first I didn't fall on my knees.
I didn't ask God what He thought,
Nor think of the consequences it brought.

The deed seemed to go fine,
But what result did I leave behind?
Did God receive the praise,
Or was it my flesh I wished to raise?

If glory God didn't receive,
Then Heaven can't be pleased.
So let's think of the things we do,
That God may be pleased with me and you.

Before we go out
And around about,
Lets think of who this is about.
Then upon our knees lets fall.
For God should receive the glory for it all.
