Where Does Time Go?
Does it break off into bits
Drift among the dust
Where golden rays say
"Let us reveal you"
Even if others only see filth?
Does it dissipate with our fallen words,
A blank slate erased for tomorrow
The faded slurs on yesterday's blackboard
Now just pretty powder stomped into the carpet?
Or does time reproduce,
Yours and mine,
Lodge deep inside our minds
Giving birth to larva that depart
And move south
Finding a warmer home in our bellies
To cacoon then break free.
Now butterflies, a beating grand arrival
Fluttering on the fortification then
Muttering those soft words you whispered?
