Where I Am From

I am from a place where dirt and bushes gather
I am from the African American race
I am from the shape up and act right crowd
I came from love
I came from chaos
I am from stick out and not in
I am from the bay bridge and the cold days
I came from love
I came from chaos
I came from the struggle of making enough
I am from the long days and short nights
I am from night jobs and strong coffee
I am from city life and family gatherings
I came from love
I came from chaos
I came from the bottom to the top
I came from moments that will never be forgot
I am from those moments that expand the family tree
Those memories I have are what make me, me
