Where I Come From

I come from vivid green grass
Shorter than my brown hair
From moving the plays
To great passes
Up the middle.

I come from a house
Filled with bright hope
From the rusty play structure
To the big blue pool
From the dark back room in the basement
To the top floor in the garage
This is where the hope lies.

I come from a big family
11 great aunts and uncles
From the big family reunions
To the big parties up north
From the colorful pinatas to the big water balloons
This huge family completes me.

I come from my best friend
Who has been there for me through every step of the way
From the sleepovers to florida
Then from starbucks to circle k
My heart is filled with great joy
Every time I see that girl.
