Where I’m From

I am from the smell of freshly baked cakes
From buttermilk pie and fresh apple cake
I am from coyotes howling
From rabbits jumping and squirrels climbing.

I am from dirt bikes and four-wheelers
From a country paradise
I am from going to church on Sundays
From a crazy but loving family.

I am from the dry crisp air in the fall
From 2 feet of snow in the winter
I am from grilling out and family get-togethers
From a mixed family full of laughter and love.

I am from climbing big trees
From falling down and walking it off
I am from a big family full of strength
From a place that makes anyone feel right at home.
