Where We Were
Jolly faces, lively forces:
Oddities matched so much from two.
Nothing can change the days we made,
A dream each night that's not with you.
Time stood still, but our world ran wild.
How can I show what you can't see?
A younger me would shake the rage.
No other time for us it seems.
Lethal dose of the pain kills her.
Overstepped our delicate stoop.
Valiant attempts to repair tears,
Endless rues arose like a ruse.
Doors we bolted to hide the sores.
Yearning for the yin to my yang;
Our hours were flowers that bloomed pure.
Untold whispers that sang with pain.

This Poems Story
I'm twenty-three years old and I was raised in Teaneck, New Jersey. I've always been inspired by the hip hop culture and I've had an admiration for poetry. This poem is dedicated to a woman I fell in love with. If you're reading this, read the first letter of every line straight down. You were my inspiration.
