Where You Were

The phones stopped working
When I called
And I guess the computers
and postal service
I thought currents had changed
and you saw life was worth it
to speak to your child
through youthful sin
And at times argue
with their... my voice within
But it seems I've made
fantasy of us all.
Life has thrown us
around and around
but I wont mock
You falling down.
I wish you could see me
falling down
And pulling up in tears
I wish you'd wanted
to take part in these years.
They were messy
They were *****
They were liberating
In the most destructive way
Because you were there
And I was here waiting.
