While Waiting for Death

In these moments as you pass
I greet you still in loving grasps
I see you now in body free
your smile re-found and worry free
no light I see in shadows 'round
my soul is torn as sadness drowns
but you I see have gained new life
a beam so bright of ended strife
your magnetic heart full of grace and charm
moves unrestricted now free from harm
the liberty to be who you were meant to be
could easily carry you away from me
but even still as the new existence comes through
your story of love continues to move
for it is not in your nature, grandeur to be
but selfless, serving and concerned more for me
you look back to those who grieve and gather
more worried now for those who to you will always matter
in spiritual hugs you wrap your love
that will forever this world rise above
bestowing the heart of who are
forever to those you know and love
"Not an ending!" you beseech to those you leave
"But a beginning, forever, try not to grieve."
