While Watching Fireworks

The colored lights glow softly
In a nebula of smoke;
A flower erupts then waits to
Watch the wonder it evokes.
A single rocket soaring high
Now bursts to twinkling stars;
Another carries golden rain
To show'r down from afar.
With booms and cracks and cheers and screams,
Confetti lights the sky
In grand, grand celebration
Of this beautiful nation mine.
