The soft and quiet sound that inspires passion and love
Like the songs of a sweet and harmless dove.

The sound she loved to hear until she didn't anymore;
What wouldn't she give to live the life she had before.

She said, as she pulled out the chair;
Her eyes, laden with wrinkles,
Anxiously wandered round the room as she pulled on her hair.

"They were one, then two and three... now four."
Repeatedly, she tugged on her bangles
And shook her head from side to side as she gazed at the door.

Her voice got louder, as if she couldn't hear herself.
Even louder she cried, as she slowly moved towards the shelf.

It seemed as though they suddenly got louder and more intense.
Trembling, she fumbled with her purse and plugged her ears;
Now backed to the wall with her neck crooked,
She held her head and...

That's the sound she may never hear again.
"They're all in my head,
Just whispers."
