Whispet

On the shadows of her heart
A memory creeps in
It's all it really is, a dance upon the wind
Nothing more, she'll say.
A dark whisper from afar
It's voice as deep as sin
Noise among the chaos, it brings the silence in.
Abstract and so distant
Nothing left to hold
Enslaved by a culture, so bitter and so cold.
Some day the nest will empty
And on the wind she'll fly
Wind beneath her wings,
She'll do more than just get by.
Wrestling the loneliness
For now will have to do
So wait for her upon the breeze, she'll find her way to you.
