White Walls

Surrounded by these white walls
Standing around me
So many things they see
So much life beneath the walls
I never noticed them before
Your memory lies beneath it all
Protected by these walls
I felt comfort and joy.
They see me in my happiest
When I barely notice these walls
I stood inside for a lifetime
I never noticed these walls
Surrounded by these white walls
Something has changed from under
I notice these walls
Why do they look sad?
These white walls are so plain
There is no life anymore
I notice these white walls
As they absorb my pain
I'm stuck inside these white walls
I cannot get out
Your memory has passed
They lie only within the walls
I stare at these white walls
They appear blue as I am low. I need to get out
When will the walls let me go. Forever these walls
Will be trapped inside me. One day these white walls
Will not be noticed again
