Who Are You?

Who are you? I asked,
"Tell me your name.
Where are you from?
What's your claim to fame?"

"I'm fire and tears," she sighed,
"Winter gold, summer white,
Contrast, confusion,
Confession and lies,
Music and poetry
Rhythm and rhyme,
Boundless, forever,
Locked into time."

"Who are you?" I begged,
Please tell me your name.
I'm enchanted, entranced,
And I'm asking again."

"I'm dark night and daydreams,
Quiet strength and great pain."
Then she lowered her eyes.
"I can't tell you my name."

"Who are you?" I shouted,
"Pray tell me your name."
Then she held up a mirror.
I sighed - we're the same.
