Sometimes I wonder why I exist

They all told me that I had a purpose

That the future was in my hands

Sometimes I wonder if they were right

I want to forget it all

I want to decide my own future

I don't want to be controlled

Or agree without thinking

Sometimes I wonder why they even bother

I don't listen, and it's obvious

I try to take their advice, but it's impossible

I'm shaped and molded to their preferences

But the shape never stays the way they want it to

It always returns to its original form

Rebellious, unique, loving, complicated

I refuse to conform

I belong to myself

This Poems Story

I wrote this poem because I always feel the pressure to meet society's expectations, and my parent's expectations as well. Btw I am terrible at writing poetry so i'm sorry if this is a crappy poem.
