Why I Smile

I smile for the sun and clouds,
Also the flower beds,
But not for the man who whispers
At my head.

I'd grin for a pleasant sport,
Like walking round the block,
But not for an immoral blockhead,
Chasing a smock.

Why are you up at arms,
'Bout half the village states?
Not knowing that his charms
Come second rate!

So I must fly away,
To frown or merry smile,
Seeking a better harbor,
All in good style.
