Why Was It So?

Why Was It So?

He told her to meet him
That night at ten
Down in the park
Is where they had been

A picnic blanket
A dinner for two
Supposedly he loved her
But who really knew

It was pitch black out
But they didn’t mind
Just a small glow from the moon
Had made him look so kind

She leaned in for a kiss
And so did he
But with a knife in the back
He left her where no one would see

So when you look out you window
And see the people in all those cars
Just think about who you can trust
Unlike the man from the murder under the stars
