Why We Would Never Meet

We live in the same 10-stories building
Along with 6 billion people
And we both get coffee
From Starbucks
Yet we would never meet

It's ironic to know
Our mailboxes were nearly touching
But while I was out dancing
You were playing baseball
And if you should ever stumble
To the same party
I would think you are the weird dude
Who's hitting on everyone
Without taking a second look
Perhaps we would board the same bus
Both of us equally well distracted
By a picture of a cat
On Facebook

I know one day we would clash
You would apologize
For spilling my tea
Our faces concealed with wrinkles
No longer capable of recognition
