Why Would you Stay
My air is filling your lungs as I listen to your heartbeat.
I'm smelling all your skin and playing with both your feet.
I'm feeling all of your heat radiate into my skin.
I'm feeling all of your warmth replace my cold from within.
You squeeze me tighter as I'm losing my grasp.
You inhale me deeper even if I don't ask.
I can't tell if I ever gave you permission.
It's okay how does a girl not become your submission.
Your laughter entranced me I wanted your spirit.
But you stopped smiling when I asked for it and wanted to be near it.
I didn't ask you to close your doors but you still went away.
You got what you wanted. Why would you ever stay?
She winces at the thought of you seeing sadness streak so visibly from her gaze.
But it's okay she tells herself, nobody ever remembers her face.
