Wide Awake

I can't sleep
Because thoughts are running wild in my head
You
You are running wild in my head
As I sit uncomfortably
My elbow pressed against the windowsill
The cold air pressed against my face
Sheer moonlight dimly lights the scene
But as I stare into the beauty of this cold night
I can not focus on the flowers
I can not focus on the trees
I can not focus on the cold wind now numbing
My dry and broken face
I can only focus on you
I do not look in awe
At the beauty of the night time
I look at the beauty of you as you appear
Every time I close my eyes
My body is here, absorbed into the night
Only separated by a simple screen
But my mind is wrapped around the image of you
And you are all I think about
Every cold night
When I can't sleep
