Wild Turkey Dance

Roof is thumping.
Feathers fly.
Gobbles raining from the sky.
What's that racket?
What's that sound?
Wild turkeys going round
On the rooftop.
Sweet romance.
Turkeys stomp a mating dance.
Strutting, puffing,
Jagger-like shuffles.
Scarlet, orange all a ruffle.
Round about,
To and fro,
Rocks the wild turkey show.
Suddenly,
They see me spy.
Strutting, puffing, dancing,
Dies.
Female wings it to the sky.
Tom looks on with sated eyes.
Show is over.
Love has flown.
Time to leave my house
Alone.
