Will not let go

I have trudged on through the blackest of nights
I have walked through rain, bitter cold, and snow
I have walked with just one single faint light
I have walked my legs ‘til they could not go

My heart has hurt until I cannot breathe
I have said goodbye but my tears don’t show
My mind stops ease, for instead it must seethe
And despite, it says, “I will not let go”

The darkest of nights helps me see light
I feel the warmth; tangent to rain and snow
For stars are my new source of light tonight
I am now strong with everything to show

Pain drives me through hesitation
For I am now in, a true formation
