Wingless Angels

They are amongst us in unsuspicious places,
Hidden within strangers and familiar faces.
In many different shapes and sizes,
Undetected in their varied disguises.
Could indeed be your friend who cares for you,
Or just a total stranger to your rescue.
Their path crossing yours is of no coincidence,
For the Lord cannot be everywhere at once.
So he instills his will with the gift to care,
To the chosen ones who are unaware.
With a tender heart touched by his grace,
To be at the right time at the right place.
From the pillar of strength you call your friend,
To your better half who loves you to no end.
Even you yourself under the Lord's spell,
May have in some way been someone's wingless angel.
