Winter is not Summer or Spring or Fall,
in fact, it is not
like an y of these seasons at all.

Snow is pretty in a paperweight,
ice-skaters are lovely too,
but try freezing weather on the interstate.

Winter is not very sunny,
winter is not very warm,
winter is cold and not at all funny.

It is fun to go out and shovel snow,
and hurt your legs and back
and daydream of a sunny lawn to mow.

Winter is not hammocks or flip-flops,
but rather sitting in a log cabin
looking out the window at the snowdrops.

Summer is better for love and romance,
because there is no freezing ice,
so book your cruise for July and learn to dance!
