Winter

Sunshine falls,
Snowflakes cry.
Minute hand stalls,
Green leaves die.

Mother Nature sleeps,
Laying under a blanket of white.
Round the bend Moonlight creeps,
Bringing blackness and starlight.

Animals rest with tummies filled,
Humans decorate trees.
Roads are icy and water is chilled,
Presents are accepted while mistletoe can tease.

Frozen air hugs the raging fire,
Goddess and God embrace.
Eternal love burning higher,
This,no mortal can trace.

All life shall halt,
Darkness will stay.
Till warm wind leaves the vault,
And returns the day.
