Winter Days

Winter's got its grip on me
with all its mighty glory.
The sun is what I need to see,
but that's a different story.

The temperatures keep falling,
the snow is piling high.
A sad feeling keeps on crawling,
until big tears I cry.

Losing a battle this time of year,
a battle of good against bad.
And deep within me I have a fear,
that happy loses against sad.

I want to keep fighting the fight--
want to see the good in this cold.
Will dig deep to find the spirit and light,
to get me through it--or so I'm told.

The birds announce the spring's arrival,
snow is melting and trees start to bloom.
My feelings and hope experience a revival,
I know it. I feel it. It's happening soon.
