Winter in the Forest

The tranquil sound of snow
Dipping peacefully onto
The white canvas that covers the Earth.
No grass dares to peer,
Out of the new fallen ice.
The trees regale the forest
With their all-knowing whispers,
And the moonlight seeps
Like sap into the night.
As the stars sing
The song of the cosmos,
Hush falls over the world
And the only sound that is left
Is the sound of snow dipping peacefully onto
The white canvas that covers the Earth
