If I had a wish
To spend
On anything i asked
I’d close my eyes,
Purse my lips,
And blow
A single breath
Into the wisps
Of a dandelions feathers,
And wish
When I inhaled
I could remember
The dark.
The terror I knew
As a child,
The reason for the ways
I respond to love.
As my wish leaves my lungs,
I’d inhale
The memories
Of evil
So that I can
Look these demons
In the empty fire
Of their eyes
And say,
“Fuck you, I win”
And move
Like a ghost
Through a wall,
Into the pain
And hate
So I can fight and
If I had
A wish
To blow through
A dandelions hair.
