wish upon a shooting star

alright, here’s the plan
we lay down side by side
and i will take your hand

we’ll stare up at the sky
and please, let’s pretend
we don’t have to say goodbye

seeing those shooting stars
is rare with all this pollution
emitting from factories next to bars

so let that music in your head
fill all this empty, lonely space
(there were so many things i wish i said)

let’s pretend those satellites
are really shooting stars
(let’s come here every night)

because i know one of these days
we’ll see a really shooting star
and my wish will be the same as always

-i wish we could be together, forever
