Wishful Thinking

I try not to think those thoughts,
those thoughts of you.
I didn't ask for this!
How dare you?
Please don't take what's left of me.
Let me be,
with those thoughts.
The thoughts I try not to think.
Yet they are still coming.
Rushing toward my memory like the train I rode here on.
Leaving me sleepless, tossing and turning until dawn.
I didn't ask for this!
I didn't ask for you to be in my dreams
and for those dreams to twist into nightmares.
How dare you?
Let me be!
Let me hold on to those good at least,
but somehow there's no recollection of those.
Just these thoughts.
Rushing toward my memory like a hurricane in my head.
Just let me be.
Please let me keep the few pieces you left of me.
