Wisps of Life

Happily married she believed
Misery soon supersedes
Doubts fill her mind,
Lies hold hypnotic sway
Easy for him, it’s his way.

Sleepless nights soon ensue
The heart, now a wound
Beating slow and heavy,
Love now borders hate
It’s clear, it’s all too late.

Betrayal sets the course
Divorce the only fix
One page to wed,
Fifty-eight to undo
Hell, it’s peculiar to me too.

Grateful to have survived
Out of the darkness
Thank God for Light,
Praying to Him, I abide
Peace and joy again reside inside.
