Withered

Twist my spine and compress my column
As You deny my opportunity
Deflate my strength through strangulation of nerve
As You seat me for mere correspondence

Sever attachments
While attacking the weakness of Achilles
As You set my day with gatherings
Move discs outside their proper space
With cracks down the length
As You remind me of my failure

What more shall You take from me
Before I am allowed to gain repute
I am moribund
If or when the moment descends
I will be flayed to a fraction of what I was
Only to fail the task
