Withheld Tears

Pain written across your face
Grief in your movements
Your heart in pain
Refusing to let the bridge fall
and the tears flood out
Your pride is worth the pain
or so you think
You're stubborn
and don't want to cry
Afraid someone might see
You keep it bottled up
Until you don't know what to do
You shuffle your feet everywhere
A symbol of pain
Your movements throughout the day
and as I look in the mirror
I see you are me
And as I see the feelings are mine
but not ones I want to keep
