Within These Walls

Within these walls there is a heart
Enraptured, encaptured from the start,
For somehow I sensed inside of me
The sanctuary where my spirit must be.

Here was shelter, here was hope
The strengths by which I would cope,
Through the trials along the way
The despairs that daunted day by day.

Here I heard the bluebirds sing
Sensed the joy there song could bring,
Here I felt all my sorrows cease
Found new faith & a place of peace.

So tread lightly by the open door
Where memories are storied evermore,
Tho' life has come & life has gone
Within these walls ... a heart lives on!
