I am a woman of strong emotion.
A wind-whipping hurricane force destroyer
Unexpected power, volume-expressed intensity
Delivered in a battering of unconscionable words
Anger's muse, Zeus' deliverance.

I am a woman of strong emotion.
Pain, yours, swamps and beaches me
Unbearable, I drown, holding tight to your pain, your truth
Tumbling in rolling waves of salted tear-water sobs
That I will never let you hear.

I am a woman of strong emotion.
Trembling in aspen-like quivering from the mere breeze
Of life's suggestion, its what-might-be sets me shaking
Enlarging to endless dark possibility. I spin within
For I am rooted, bound by what never happens, but could.

Look at me, you'll see.
Not a woman of strong emotion
But one "so nice," you'll dismiss, shrug
And I'll smile, agree,
Grateful for your attention.
