Women of Style

Women of style, we can get a little wild,
crafted so savvy like Laffy Taffy.
It shouldn’t make you nervous
We shift with a purpose
As the saying goes “it takes a village”
to feel it, to meal it, and seal it
Recovery takes time
to redefine and
Bring sunshine to the Divine
As we climb the mountain tops
The foundation fills our cups
with the antidote to stay afloat
So take note of the kind gestures
of our ancestors
A sisterhood I thought I'd never find
Women of my kind
we dance in soul train lines
So unique like antiques
you wouldn’t think we would
Despite the trials so long as the Nile
We light the canals like angels in style
A place of recovery and diversity,
sometimes feels like a nursery,
Tensed, never looked back since..
