They can help to heal the hurt.
Or make some things go even worse.
They can make a light to see.
Or even help to set you free--words.

By them you can alter things.
Or sing praises to the holy king.
By words you can help make things go well.
Or condemn your own poor soul to hell--words.

The tongue indeed is such a small part.
But it can become like a poison dart.
The tongue for sure no man can tame.
But pray God helps us, from harm refrain.

Odd how words we speak ensnare.
And make one's load much harder to bear.
Be careful of the words you use.
Someone else, may use them on you.
