Words from a Philophobic

[words from a philophobic]
philophobia: the fear of falling in love or emotional attachment.

“ i have always been bad at hanging on,”
for that my path is lonely, narrow,
unseen.

i never let anyone hear my song,
for fear is a monster whose habitat is me

i expect destruction,
i live for destruction,
i wear it everyday

every hour,
every minute,
every second,

tis to destruction i pray…

but it’s not my fault,
it can’t be my fault,
i didn’t breed the fear
within.

i was born anxious, raised
to build walls,
so i know i can't fly...I know i’ll just fall

“i have always been bad at hanging on,”
and for that you will never hear my song.
