Year of the Baby

Excitement in the air
Anticipation I can't bear
Eager for the bun
I just want my son
Realization sweeping in
Nervousness deep within
Wife in pain
I can't explain
Joy wrapped in a towel
Makes me want to howl
6 pounds 13.4 ounces
Daddy pronounces
Homeward bound
Love all around
Unsure of what to do
How do I clean this doo-doo?
Eat, sleep, and more eat
He's so little and so sweet
All over my shirt
Explosion I couldn't avert
Lifting head up
Look, sitting up!
Crawling around
Stairs inbound
He's so funny
As sweet as honey
A year has past
Gone by so fast
