Yellow Fever, 1793 Epidemic

oh fever, oh fever,
be gone from here
you are the cause of fear,
all over Philadelphia this year

I can not go up
I can not go down
the mosquito has been all around town
no luck until next dawn

Yellow Fever they say,
arrived from just a few blocks away
where the refugees housed,
later all their symptoms pounced

Dr.Rush attempts to save the day
the French nod in dismay,
from his unique bloodletting way

when the first frost forms
as humanity will reform
and relief from the malady
will bring us all back to reality
oh fever, oh fever
