Yellow Golden Flower

A yellow golden flower
composed of more than just the hours,
inspired many hearts and minds;
its tiny glow empowered.
Raised from dirt and dark,
the small seed life did spark,
and from it went the many lives
on which it left its mark.
To gloom and tomb,
from life and womb,
the enlivened did embark.

Such small things matter not,
to those who give no thought,
to circumstances of envied glances
in which were never sought.
Her petals never spoke a word
and yet their countless songs were heard;
by Kings and Queens and smaller beings
the melodies affirmed,
that life itself is surely more
than all of us confirm.
Of birds and bees with gilded wings
to lively earthen worms,
these tiny things do truly bring
more color to our world.
